First Baptist Family,
As we are approaching our third week of being unable to meet corporately I want to thank each of you for your efforts to keep in touch. We have been working hard to make sure that everyone has what they need and that we can continue to keep everyone connected. I hope each of you has been able to access the sermons, Ingrid’s Ministry of Music, and the other content that we have had on the website. I also want to thank the many people who have reached out to offer help and support in this difficult time. If there is an area of need that you have please let us know and we will do our best to get you the help you need. Just a couple of updates to share with you.
-The Passover Seder and Easter Egg Hunt have officially been canceled. We will endeavor to reschedule the Seder for Good Friday of next year. It looks like we will be continuing to worship from a distance for the next few weeks so we will keep you updated on upcoming events.
-The Trustees met (via an online meeting) last night to talk about the current financial state of the church. We want to thank all those who have been able to continue to give during this trying financial time. The trustees have been keeping a close eye on giving over the last three weeks and have been working hard to lower all unnecessary spending. That being said, the general fund has been trending downward for several months and they have determined it necessary to forgo payments to our missionaries for the month of April. The Trustees will continue to monitor the overall finances of the church with the hope of resuming payments in May. Our hope is to ultimately put ourselves in a position to support our missionaries for the long term.
-We will be posting our 1st mid-week Bible study today on the website firstbaptistcourthouse.org. Each Wednesday a new Bible study will be available as we work our way through the book of Titus. I invite you to grab a Bible and a cup of coffee and join me for this study!
In Christ,
